About Me

My name is Siope and I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I also sing bass II in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I joined the choir in January 2014 and became an official member in May 2014.

When I was a young boy my father took me to the Tabernacle where I heard the choir for the first time. It moved me so much. I still remember exactly where I sat that day and now as a member from the loft I can see that place. I think of my tiny self sitting there never imagining I could join that heavenly sound. It has been an amazing experience.

I enjoy playing the piano, trumpet, guitar and drums. My father was a musician who also played every instrument I play but he played them better. Music was his major in college but he never finished school as his growing family needed him to work. He would have loved this opportunity but I know he is glad to see me having this experience. He passed away in 2000.

I live in Salt Lake City, Utah but my family comes from the small island Kingdom of Tonga in the South Pacific.

My wife and I have a daughter. She inspires us to be better. This blog is a written history largely for her about me and the choir. It is also for family and friends and anyone else. Why not? Sharing is caring. I would post it in our family blog but we do have lives outside of choir.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Professional. I am using those skills and learning new skills to create web content to help strengthen families and children. This includes casting, filming, script writing, SEO development, website building, meme creation, app design, etc. My work allows me to be on the internet a lot. Since I spend my time here in cyberspace so I might as well blog. You can visit the website I'm working on HERE. We are still in beta but it is coming along.

I'm on Social Media just about everywhere (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.) Look me up. I always like to make new friends.
