Breaking World Records

Ileina as an angel. It was a cold night but she was a real trooper. She is amazing.
You can count me as a Guinness Book of World Record holder. Well, sort of.

A few weeks ago it was announced in rehearsal that the choir had an opportunity to participate in breaking the Guinness Book of World Records in creating the largest living Nativity. There were over 1, 000 people there. I should point out the choir's version of "Angels from the Realms of Glory" (arranged by Mack Wilberg) was used in the arrangement so in effect the entire choir was there in voice.

I told Ileina about it and she was super excited to participate so I signed up.

In signing up I didn't realize we would be treated like VIP's at the event and it made it even more fun. We were given gowns to be angels. It was surreal to be in the area with other Youtubers that I have watched for years. Peter Hollens, the Shaytards, Kid Snippets, people from Meet the Mormons, Studio C cast members, etc. We were all herded into a small area where everyone was just talking with everyone else. I was geeking out a little, or maybe a lot. Out of respect for their sanity I refrained from asking for pics although they probably would have been fine with it. David Archuletta and the Piano Guys would film their segments during the next few days.

Here is a picture with my fellow choir members who were there that day. So fun.
One thing I would like to say is the influence of the choir was at the event. The person in charge of arranging the music for the video shoot mentioned that he took the arrangement by Mack Wilberg's "Angels From the Realms of Glory" and that we would be singing the last part of the song as angels.

There were about 7 choir members there and it was fun to mingle with each other outside of choir. (Not pictured: Fred)

It was a cold evening and only got more cold as we went along.

We arrived at 2:30 pm and stayed there until around 9:30 pm. It was along filming. Reminded me of the Scott Stirling Studio C video we filmed a few weeks earlier.

Here is film from my phone of that night. Just fun memories.

The final video is posted below. It turned out awesome.

We can be seen in the video at around 3:08-3:10.
We stood in line but we didn't need to stand in line. It was still nice to hang out with everyone and feel the excitement of the crowd.
Us before the shoot in our angel robes.
Gathering everyone on the hill before the shoot.
Don't let the sunshine fool you. It was a clear night but it was still pretty chilly.
Our view from the hill. The Nativity is being shot in the middle of the screen.
There was such a positive vibe from everyone there. It was great fun.
